| Advanced Athletic Ashtanga: A dynamic advanced level class that synchronizes movement with the breath. This class flows comparative to Larry Schultz's "ROCKET" routines from IT"S YOGA San Francisco, where the instructor Grace Tuma studied. This series of asanas (postures) is based on a modification of the traditional Ashtangha Vinyasa intermediate series as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India. This is a feel good sequence of inversions, back bends and spinal twisting that opens the body and clears the mind. Frequent hand stands and arm balances keep the energy high. A playful and upbeat routine. |
| Kripalu yoga class begins with a centering then leads into breathing techniques, warm-ups and yoga postures, a guided relaxation and concludes with a seated meditation. Kripalu yoga translates in English as the yoga of compassion and is often referred to as mediation in motion. By focusing inward and feeling each posture each muscle each alignment cue one can begin to harmonize the mind, body and spirit. Through modifications and compassion for oneself, Kripalu yoga can be practiced by anyone no matter what age, body type or perceived limitations one has. The gifts of this practice will manifest themselves on the mat as well as off the mat. |
