Belt Intensive Upon completion of the Nia intensive training, and in order to teach Nia as a certified teacher, a Nia certification fee is paid annually which includes:
The Nia White Belt Level 1 teaching provides trainees with the physical sensation of Nia. The foundation of the training consist of 13 principles laid systematically by Debbie Rosas and Carlos Rosas. Each session will have a specific focus that explores the Science--Art & Craft of each principle in an experiential and cognitive way. Nia classes are taught each day along with Freedance session. The training provides the foundation to then obtain the Nia license, work with the continuing education videos and then to begin to teach Nia. For more information from, visit Nia Headquarters. Nia Albany Intensive The Nia Albany Intensive offers the resources of The Center Nia & Yoga: joyful Nia classes, safe space for freedance sessions, special Nia application class, working with women in drug rehab or special guest practitioners. Most intensives end with a Nia Community Dance Jam. Off-site accommodations are available. Excellent vegetarian food in nearby restaurants. |

Contact information Instructor Casey Bernstein is a registered nurse with over 13 years of varied experience. Her philosophy revolved around wellness of the individual to move (dance) to their highest potential of wellness. Nia was a natural progression and became Casey's life path and passion. She obtained her Nia Black Belt in 1995 and become an Nia teacher trainer in 1997. She is also certified in the Expressive Arts and Yoga. She is the creator and director of The Center for Nia and Yoga, originating in 1993, in Albany, NY. She also has specialized in working with women in drug rehabilitation and facilitating women's workshops and retreats.
